Mandy Alabanza

Stylist

Mandy has been a hairstylist since childhood. Back then, her clientele was exclusively Barbie dolls.  After learning the tough lesson that Barbie’s hair never grows back, she moved on to humans and started professionally doing hair in 2002.  Make-up artistry was Mandy’s first love and this lead her to pursuing an education in cosmetology. She got her start at AVEDA Fredric’s Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio and has since continued her education in cosmetology with hair artists from the likes of Bumble & Bumble, American Crew, AVEDA & Davines.

A recent graduate of Flagler College, she holds a Bachelor Degree of Fine Art and continues to create and show art in addition to doing hair.  Mandy’s experience as a fine artist gives her a unique perspective in her approach to hair. She is a ninja with a razor blade and loves creative color. Her utmost concern when doing hair is to have an artistic collaboration with each individual who sits in her chair. In this way, she is able to merge a guest’s vision with her own to create the perfect ‘do…all while forming the intimate bond that can only exist between you and your hair stylist.

On a personal note, Mandy is currently learning to play the drums, and although she spent two-thirds of her life in California and Ohio, she has fallen deeply in love with the South and one day hopes to develop a southern drawl that is "as obnoxious as Madonna's British accent."
